The great thing about Home Based Businesses is that they are very easy to start. The down-side is that this also means that they are just as easy to quit. Most people have never worked for themselves before so they are not prepared for the reality of what to expect. They end up quitting before they really give their business a chance.

There are three things that must be done consistently that can lead to a good measure of success.

1. Set goals. Nobody else knows what you really want as much as you do. But a goal is just a dream until it is written down and assigned a date. 2. Schedule specific times during the day to complete your activity goals. You do not have a boss looking over your shoulder telling you exactly what to do. Once you know what your goals are, find out what activities need to be completed on a daily basis that will keep you on track to reaching your goals by the desired date. Then set aside time each day by scheduling in specific times to work on those activities.

3. Hold yourself accountable. One of the hardest things about running a home based business is that you only answer to yourself. Most people are in the habit of reporting to someone else. When you know that you must report to someone else, it forces you to be prepared and to complete your responsibilities. When you are only accountable to yourself, it is easy to procrastinate. Do not give in to this temptation. If you have set your goals and have scheduled specific times to work on certain activites, you have accomplished ninety percent of your desired results. It is the other ten percent (which also happens to be the easiest part to put off and procrastinate) involving the execution and follow through that will determine whether you reach your goals or not.

Do these three things consistently and there is no limit to what you can achieve.

Do you know what is MLM prospecting? If you don’t know what MLM prospecting is then allow me to enlighten you.

MLM prospecting is a prospecting technique that uses a series of traffic generation methods to acquire leads for your network marketing business, and then using different sales techniques in your sales funnel to get them to become an your network marketing product consumer or a business building downline.

However, I’ve observed that there are many people out there who are not conducting MLM prospecting correctly. Let me share with you based on my experience.

Traditionally, people used to approach their friends and relatives and get them to buy their products or join their downline. Once they have run out of friends and relatives to prospect, they start prospecting strangers using cold calling and buying leads. The biggest problem with this type of prospecting is that it doesn’t work and you are only annoying your prospect (not to mention giving the network marketing industry a very, very bad name).

When you look for strangers by buying leads, you will not know how good those leads are. The quality could be very bad. These leads could be outdated and you might be calling someone who has a very negative experience with a previous network marketing company.

That is not all, you are also annoying people by calling them up through cold calling because they don’t give a hoot who you are and they will most likely not entertain your call. At the end of the day, you will waste a lot of money and your time using this type of MLM prospecting.

If you want to conduct effective MLM prospecting, you must be prepared to find targeted leads. That means people who are truly interested in network marketing – people who are looking for opportunities. People who are already open minded about network marketing or network marketers who are looking to switch to another company are people who are good prospects for MLM prospecting.

There are also many other ways that I use for MLM prospecting – co registration leads, search engine optimization, blogging, pod casting, submitting articles, building a mailing list and many other online tools are all very useful methods for MLM prospecting. The most important thing you must do is collect lots and lots of leads from your prospecting efforts so that you will not run out of fuel for your network marketing business. At the end of the day, it is about how badly you want success.

Isagenix has a big ambition according to the material available on their website. That being to impact world
health. Overall nutrition, skin care and cleansing are the three product divisions that Isagenix offers.

Cleanse for Life, one of the main products, is advertised as a tool for weight loss along with energy and good
health. Two-packs of 32oz bottles of this products are intended for 2 days of a cleansing program. This would
seem to be the main product recommended by Isagenix as part of their 30-day complete cleansing system.
Isagenix also has a 9-day quick cleanse program which uses the same product and this purports to result in an
average weight loss of 7 lbs over that time. Also, they seem to have much in the way of meal replacement
options.

All the company’s products are available right from the Isagenix website, or from a network of independent
affiliate retailers. They have a business model which is similar to that of Avon’s.

This company gives complete ingredient lists for all of its products. But I’m not 100% ready to buy into the idea of
a complete system with numerous products, potions and pills as the best weight loss method. I would say that
most people can find success through the implementation of a low calorie diet, exercising regularly and a single,
effective weight loss supplement, or even no weight-loss products at all. I hate to think just how many people are
taking some sort of weight loss product without being concerned with or aware of the possible effects, simply
because they would like to look thinner.

The listed ingredients for the Cleanse for Life product are Pau d’Arco inner bark, Aloe Vera leaf, suma root,
IsaLyte trace minerals, eleutherococcus senticosus root extract, fennel seed, burdock root, peppermint leaf,
licorice root, choline bitartrate, inositol, betain HCL and I-methionine. Sometimes I get the impression that these
companies only put things in their products with unusual names so that people will be in mystery as to what it
does, or what it is supposed to do. When I was a kid I had hordes of Burdock growing under my front porch.
Never heard that Burdock root had any weight loss benefits. And I’m not familiar with what any of this stuff is
except for aloe vera and peppermint. And if anyone comes near me with choline bitartrate they are going to get it!

I’m not aware of one thing on this list that is noted as a proven, effective supplement for losing weight. Despite the
fact that many of the ingredients may be relatively healthy in other ways, It could be more effective to see a
proven fat burner and appetite suppressant on the list for maximum weight loss. Recognized weight loss
supplements are noticeably absent from the above list.

We can go on all day about the products as there are many of them.

Originally I set out to review this company only relative to people’s ability to create a valid income as an
independent representative. I had a lot of trouble locating any solid numbers being provided by anyone out
there who is in point of fact doing very well with it as a business.

Isagenix pays it’s retailers with a binary pay matrix. Really my least desired of all network marketing
compensation plans. I have never liked the idea of getting paid just on the weaker leg. It makes one balance
their downline but it also allows a somewhat small percentage of net payout. The company is only paying out on
less than 50% of it’s volume right off the bat. The Isagenix website specifies an average profit margin around
30%. So what one is really looking at in terms of income potential is having to sell tons and tons of product and
recruit massively to even make any recruiting efforts worthwhile.

In case you are not familiar, a binary matrix is fundamentally two legs. You will be putting your new recruits into
the smaller of the two legs and trying your best to manage and balance them because you will only be paid on
the small leg. It can be a strain to manage whom you are adding where in your downline and often makes it hard
to predict the future production. But to put it simply, you are going to get few dollars per month, per person, within
your smaller leg.

My observation is that, as a business opportunity, Isagenix is best suited for those of you who who use the
products because they are getting results from them and believe in them and are not terribly concerned with
making big time money, and maybe one who is more interested in getting products at the wholesale price and
perhaps making a bit of extra cash here and there. Evaluating Isagenix purely from a profit or lack of profit
standpoint does not make it appear terribly strong but one should keep in mind that by all accounts that is not the
strategy for Isagenix. This is a growing group of product users who also distribute. I would be surprised if there
are very many distributors who were not first users of the products.

This is not to say that it is not viable or worthy of one’s time. I have met people who’ve been taking and selling
Shackley products for many years, making several thousand extra dollars per year and they are perfectly happy
with this. Also, for some folks a business such as this one serves as a social life. And that is exactly why I love
this industry. I feel like my work-day is my social life.

It seems to me, a product line like this one is very favorable to a retail store-front. If one had a substantial local
population focused on wellness, especially if you own your own health food or grocery store then this could be a
great way to market the products, in contrast to more traditional method of word of mouth. Certainly, this would be
almost entirely a retail sales strategy as opposed to a recruitment strategy.

I am not a retailer for Isagenix and I have never personally used the products.

I just wanted to take a peek at the company and shed some light on the income potentialities from an unaffiliated
party perspective.

I can still vividly recall when wI first got started in the home based business arena. A lot of these memories aren’t too fond. Here’s just a few of the items that I was doing:
1. Passing out THOUSANDS of brochures.
2. Fliers at local malls and movie theaters.
3. Tens of thousands of emails (yes, losing numerous ISP’s in the process).
4. Having our friends and families practically run and hide from us.
5. Countless hotel meetings.
6. Hosted way too many house parties.
This is just the short list. I could go on and on. I could also share with you financial statements that would absolutely FRIGHTEN YOU!
Why am I sharing this?
The honest truth is that I want you to know that I have been through some VERY rough times. It can be downright frustrating and exhausting. Maybe you can relate to that.
You’re out there every single day on the front line working your tail off and not seeing the results that you’re looking for. I know exactly how that feels. I have lived in your shoes. It’s not a fun spot to be in. Today, we’re going to change that (more on this in a few minutes).
Maybe you’re there right now. Maybe you’re still doing some of the things we’re referencing – some of the things that statistically don’t work for most network marketers.

I am doing “something”. Taking action. If those actions aren’t working, I now know what doesn’t work – I am at least one step closer to understanding what will work.
Failures expedite UNDERSTANDING – which is at the core of knowing what will work and the “why” behind it.
Mentorship = Shortcut To Success
Another ingredient to expediting the learning curve is finding someone who is already doing what you’re striving to accomplish and study them. I can’t tell you how many marketers, leaders and entrepreneurs we have studied – dozens if not hundreds over the years.
They have been pivotal to our successes and accomplishments – we would be LIGHT YEARS behind where we are now without studying and IMPLEMENTING their knowledge and teachings.
You can’t have success without implementation of something – and it must be executed properly.
Remember, earlier when we discussed pain and frustration – you were out there on the front line working hard, but it felt like you were essentially running in place?
Better Career and Life Direction
It is also a good idea to practice setting a schedule not only for work but for your career and life plans as well. Setting a schedule for your career allows you to see the bigger picture, and envision what you want your career to look like in say 5 or ten years. Setting a schedule for your life goals also allow you to focus more on the things you want to achieve personally, such as owning a home biz or early retirement.

This will build your followers at an exponential rate — faster than you could ever do it on your own. This is one the ways that Twitter is one of the best network marketing business tools.

Once you’ve established trust and relationship with people by providing good quality content, you can throw in an offer periodically. You don’t want to do that too often or too quickly though.

Think of it like this. This if you met the president of your spouse’s company at a party, and the first thing he did was open up his trenchcoat and show you some watches for sale. It’s too soon to try and sell stuff.

Use Twitter to build relationships, and you will find that you will build followers faster than you can imagine. When you use it that way it will become one of the best network marketing business tools in your arsenal.
